For the majority of the season, when Ricky Rubio's name was mentioned it was usually in relation to trade rumours and where the Minnesota Timberwolves would ship him to. Once the trade deadline came and went and Rubio remained in Minneapolis, the only talk has been about his play on the court. The Spaniard has been in impressive form in recent months and is once again having an outstanding year in terms of distributing the basketball as he ranks fifth in assists at nine per game. The point guard is high on that leaderboard thanks largely to his play since the All-Star break. Per CBS Sports, in 17 games since the midseason hiatus, Rubio is dishing out 10.6 dimes a game, a mark that has him fourth in the league in that span. Rubio, however, is not just known for his assists, but the variety and style in which he delivers them. He can go behind-the-back, between the legs or even produce crafty bounce passes through defences. On Saturday night against the Sacramento Kings, he went for the no-look pass and did it to perfection.

Late in the first quarter, Rubio pushed the ball up the court and spotted new teammate Omri Casspi sprinting to the rim.

Rubio stopped on a dime, looked right and dished a perfect pass to Casspi to his left for an easy layup, completely bamboozling rookie Buddy Hield who was guarding him.

It was a beautiful piece of deception by the 26-year-old and another welcome to the NBA moment for Hield.
