The 2-2 draw between Arsenal and Manchester City was a strange match.

Both sides desperately needed all three points - with both teams hoping to finish in the top four, while City could have capitalised on Chelsea’s slip-up against Crystal Palace.

But Arsenal and City appeared to lack the desire to really go for the win as they played out an entertaining - but subdued - draw.

At times, City looked as though they were going to run away with the game.

Leroy Sane put them ahead after just five minutes and Kevin de Bruyne struck the post just moments later.

So when Theo Walcott equalised in the 40th minute, it caught a lot of people by surprise. In fact, even the Arsenal players appeared surprised as not many of them celebrated with the goalscorer.

Henry's 'weird' observation

It’s something that club legend and Sky Sports pundit, Thierry Henry, found ‘weird.’

He told Sky Sports: “I found the reaction weird at the time [to Walcott’s effort]. The second goal also.

“The reaction of it wasn’t that great.

“They don’t even jump on him properly but they managed to come back.

“Sometimes we underestimate – and we’ve been through it – what it’s like when the pressure is on you.

“They’ve had a lot of pressure on their backs and they could have just forgotten to celebrate the goal.”

Walcott's celebrations

Take a look at the highlights and see if you notice something 'weird' after Walcott's goal:

Maybe Arsenal players knew what was about to happen as Sergio Aguero put City back ahead just minutes after Walcott’s leveller.

But, as Henry mentioned, there weren’t too many celebrations after Shkodran Mustafi made it 2-2 shortly after half-time.

After the goal, Alexis Sanchez can be seen trying to encourage his teammates to come over and celebrate with the defender - only to be ignored.

Mustafi's celebrations

It’s certainly strange with players not usually needing encouragement to celebrate goals. Does it highlight a problem within the Arsenal camp or did the players just want to get the game re-started as they went in search of the win?

Either way, as Henry says, it was all a little bit weird.
