Liverpool and Manchester United do not do business with each other.Phil Chisnall was the last player to leave United and head directly for the Red Devils' fiercest rivals, and that was in 1964.Gabriel Heinze tried it a few years back, and all it did was earn him the hairdryer treatment from Sir Alex Ferguson and a one-way ticket out of Old Trafford.Even so, it doesn't do any harm to dream. It's always worth thinking about which Liverpool players would fit into Jose Mourinho's team and vice versa, and that was the line of questioning one fan on Twitter adopted when speaking to Phil Neville. To his credit, the former United defender gave an honest answer, but it's one he might be regretting. When asked 'Are there any players you'd take at United that play for Liverpool? Who and why?', this was his response:Not Sadio Mane. Not Philippe Coutinho. Jordan Henderson.Right. We're not sure if this was meant to be a joke, so if it was, apologies to Phil Neville.Henderson is rather a divisive player. Some Liverpool fans see how industrious he is and hugely value his role in the central midfield. On his day, the England international is an excellent passer and can also hold the fort well, supplying that first ball that allows the Reds' attack to charge forward.Unfortunately, though, he'll never be the most glamorous player. Rather like James Milner, exactly what he does often goes unseen, hence why Neville's comment sent Twitter into meltdown.

Despite some of these fans' suggestions that he should never speak about United again, Neville has been having his say on other matters relating to the club too.

Amid the ongoing storm surrounding Mourinho's treatment of Luke Shaw, Neville urged the left-back to do something about his awful season.

Neville also has some advice for Luke Shaw

"Rather than thinking ‘the manager doesn’t rate me’, I’d be thinking ‘I have to pull my finger out here’ and think the opportunity in front of me is absolutely huge, to be the number one left-back at one of the biggest clubs in the world," he said, per the Sun.

“Something has to change for Luke Shaw, because someone with that ability has got to be England and Man United’s number one left-back, and if he’s not, then there is something fundamentally wrong.

“The comments coming from Jose Mourinho suggest there may be an attitude problem or a professionalism problem, and if that is the case, this could be the kick up the backside he needs."
