Chelsea's evening could not have got off to a better start. Before the Blues had even kicked a ball, they heard positive news from the Liberty Stadium: Tottenham had conceded a goal within 11 minutes against Swansea.Antonio Conte will have stressed to his players that whatever Spurs did, they needed to concentrate on the task at hand versus Manchester City.To their credit, that's what they did.City were undone in the first half by a classy display from Eden Hazard. The 26-year-old scored a well-worked goal after 10 minutes, even if goalkeeper Willy Caballero should have done much better.Exactly the same could be said of Chelsea's second. Pedro won the penalty, but Caballero saved Hazard's initial effort - only to parry it right back into the playmaker's path.Stamford Bridge erupted, and make no mistake as to why.

He's going nowhere

This was a hugely significant goal in the title race, but it was equally notable because of who scored it.

The Belgian has been linked with Real Madrid of late and has stopped short of ruling himself out of a move.

As Los Blancos look to replace James Rodriguez, Chelsea fans must be concerned that their star man will be lured to La Liga.

Interestingly, though, Hazard celebrated by pointing to the badge on his chest. And one Twitter user spotted another equally brilliant moment after the goal.

A massive goal for Chelsea

As his team-mates swamped him, it was high fives all round from Hazard. Including for the unfortunate Cesc Fabregas, who received his in the face.

Check it out below:

Fabregas has struggled for minutes this season, and maybe it's for the best if his own team-mates are going to give him the David Moyes treatment.

It takes nothing away from Hazard's professional performance.

After conceding two goals in the first 15 minutes in the defeat to Crystal Palace, Chelsea simply couldn't afford to start slowly again.
