Arsenal earned a crucial victory over West Ham to keep their hopes of finishing in the top four alive. The Gunners swept aside West Ham 3-0 at the Emirates to win their first Premier League match since February 11 to close the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool. But it’s clear that not everything is perfect at Arsenal at the moment.‘Wenger Out’ protests continued, while there were plenty of empty seats on show for the clash against the Hammers. And then there are the celebrations.Last weekend, Thierry Henry believed that the reaction to Theo Walcott’s equaliser against Manchester City was ‘weird’, while Alexis Sanchez needed to encourage his teammates to celebrate Shkodran Mustafi’s goal during the 2-2 draw.

Henry on Arsenal celebrations

“I found the reaction weird at the time [to Walcott’s effort]. The second goal also," Henry told Sky Sports.

“The reaction of it wasn’t that great.

“They don’t even jump on him properly but they managed to come back.

“Sometimes we underestimate – and we’ve been through it – what it’s like when the pressure is on you.

“They’ve had a lot of pressure on their backs and they could have just forgotten to celebrate the goal.”

Celebrations - again

And, despite a convincing victory against West Ham, celebrations were once again a talking point.

That’s because, following his terrific strike, Olivier Giroud decided to do, well, nothing.

The Frenchman’s just turned away and didn’t even break a smile.

Wenger is happy

While Giroud didn’t smile, his manager couldn’t hide his relief at picking up three points - especially as many fans could be heard singing “One Arsene Wenger” in the second-half.

“I'm happy when people are happy,” Wenger said when informed of the singing.

“When you're such a long time at the club, you care really about people who care about the club and you know how sad they are when it doesn't go well.

“I can take care of myself. I'm used to dealing with difficult periods but you want people who love the club to be happy, so I'm happy.”

As for their top-four hopes, Wenger believes it’s possible.

“It's possible of course,” Wenger added..

“We have a game in hand on City, we have players back from injury, we have quite a strong bench tonight. Overall I think they have done it before in more difficult conditions, but we have to try to do it again, yes.”
