Chelsea took one massive step towards the Premier League title thanks to a 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Wednesday.Following their 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace last weekend, there were suddenly doubts whether the Blues can hold off the challenge from Tottenham and City to lift the trophy come May.But Antonio Conte’s side kept their lead at seven points over Spurs after Eden Hazard’s brace earned them victory over City.In truth, Chelsea could consider themselves fairly fortunate to earn all three points with Pep Guardiola’s side having the best chances. And there was an element of luck for both of Hazard’s goals as well. His first one took a hefty deflection off Vincent Kompany while his second came after the Belgian’s penalty was saved before he scored from the rebound. But there was nothing lucky about his brilliant piece of skill on John Stones towards the end of the first-half.With his back to goal and near the halfway line, Stones attempted to nip the ball off Hazard. But Hazard had other ideas.A brilliant drop of the shoulder sent Stones completely the wrong way and started another attack for Chelsea.

For the majority of the night, it looked as though it was going to be a perfect night for Chelsea.

Spurs trailed Burnley heading into the 89th minute but, rather incredibly, ended up winning 3-1.

But with just seven league matches remaining, the Premier League title is very much in Chelsea’s hands.

Their remaining fixture list reads: Bournemouth (A), Manchester United (A), Southampton (H), Everton (A), Middlesbrough (H), West Brom (A) and Sunderland (H).

With Hazard in this kind of form, it’s very difficult to see Chelsea throwing away their seven-point lead at the top.
