The pressure of playing for one of the world's biggest clubs must be enormous. At Real Madrid every movement or action a player makes is scrutinised in ways we mere mortals wouldn't think possible.

It's a serious job, no doubt, and the concentration required to perform properly is a pre-requisite, as we can see this season, with just one slip up serving to cost the coveted spot at the top of the table.

However, that said, if the opportunity arises to relieve some of that pressure and have a bit of a laugh, it must be taken. Football is about fun after all.

So before last weekend's clash between Real Madrid and Deportivo Alaves both Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo took that opportunity by having a laugh at the expense of one of their teammates.

Hosting their visitors at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Real Madrid players lined up in the tunnel with a series of young mascots before heading out onto the pitch.

Benzema lead the way hand in hand with his tiny mascot, but upon seeing substitute Lucas Vazquez on the other side of the tunnel he extended his hand for the 25-year-old to take as another mascot.

Ronaldo, who followed quickly behind, did the same, to which the Spanish international laughed and pushed his teammate away.

See for yourself below...

Vazquez may not be as tall as his two teammates, standing a 5'8 he is the smallest player in the Madrid squad, but it showed how relaxed the side were going into the game.

That relaxation extended out onto the pitch, too, as Real came away as 3-0 winners on the day. They followed this up with a 4-2 win over Leganes on Wednesday evening, meaning they maintain their lead at the top of the table.

However, they have a much bigger task ahead of them this weekend as they take on cross-city rivals Atletico in a must win game to keep Barcelona at bay.
