Today is Franck Ribery's 34th birthday, and what better way to celebrate than bring up the time he got absolutely done over by a fan on the pitch.

When he first arrived on the scene as a youngster, the former France international was heralded as a talent that could become one of the best players in the world.

And while he never quite lived up to that potential, he has still managed to pick up a whole host of trophies along the way, including six Bundesliga titles, five DFB-Pokals, one FIFA Club World Cup and one Champions League.

Known as being a top class dribbler, he's terrorised some of the game's best full-backs for years thanks to his quick thinking and lightning fast feet.

However, there was one time in particular that saw him get a taste of his own medicine, and looking back at the video it's actually really, really funny.

In October of last year, Ribery, along with teammates Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso all featured in a friendly kick around with employees of the Paulaner Fan Dreams company.

It represented a fantastic opportunity for the fans to get up close and personal with some of the finest footballers of their generation, so naturally one of them had to try their luck by doing something memorable.

A man named Alexander Freitag received the ball in space and found himself being closed down by Ribery himself, but instead of being overawed by the situation, he used a trick on Ribery that he himself mastered a long time ago.

Amazing! He absolutely ruined him there, and gave him a taste of what he's been doing to his opponents for a long time now.

The best part is in the seconds after when he looked as though he was about to run through Freitag, only to decide against it at the last second and chuckle about it instead.

The pair ended up embracing and laughing, but we can bet he felt a little embarrassed at being given the run around by an amateur.

All in good fun, though. Happy birthday, Franck.
