Kay Felder was recalled on Monday by the Cleveland Cavaliers from the Canton Charge of the NBA's Developmental League. It's a pretty banal transaction, one that happens every day throughout every season in the NBA.But it might be a regular season white flag, which could prove to be a huge decision as the NBA title hangs in the balance.Felder, a rookie reserve point guard from Detroit, will be with the Cavaliers for their final two regular season games, including Monday's game in Florida against the Miami Heat.Cleveland has just two games remaining this season and are tied with the Boston Celtics for the top spot in the Eastern Conference at 51-29.But, accrording to ESPN reporter, Felder's promotion is an indication head coach Tyronn Lue and the Cavs might be throwing up the white flag in the race for the top seed and home-court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs.

There are obviously other considerations at play, including rest for players such as LeBron James, who is averaging 37.8 minutes per game, which is the most in the NBA.

Cleveland owns the tiebreakers over Boston if it comes down to it, winning the season series 3-1.

There's also a question of matchups, as the seventh and eighth positions are still not locked in, with Milwaukee, Indiana, Chicago and Miami all in the mix for those spots. There's also matchups in the second round, as Toronto and Washinton are jockeying for the third position in the East, with those teams possibly meeting Cleveland or Bostno in the second round.

Or, maybe Lue just believes the Cavs can handle Boston in Boston just as easily as they could in Cleveland. If that's the case, then it probably is a fine idea to opt for resting players like James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love instead of going full tilt for the top spot.

Indeed, it looks like the top players on the Cavs will be taking it easy Monday night, as it sounds like Love, LeBron, Kyrie and Tristan Thompson will be kicking it on the bench, as the Heat play for their playoff lives.

Felder appeared in 11 games for Canton this season, averaging 29.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.5 steals in 36.0 minutes per game. He also played in two playoff games for the Charge with averages of 26.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists in 35.5 minutes per game.

Felder has 41 appearances for the Cavs, scoring 4.0 points in 9.2 minutes per game.
