It must be frustrating for a young footballer to be stuck on the bench week after week. Sure, they play football every day in training, but it's not the same.

So what's a player to do when they find themselves in this situation? Go and find a game of their own, of course, and that's exactly what Chelsea outcast Michy Batshuayi did this week.

The Belgian international only arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer, joining from Marseille for a fee of £33.2million, but has so far struggled to break into the side on a regular basis and to date has made only 22 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals.

Fair play to him, he's got to keep his fitness up and stay sharp some way, so why not go and find a little five-a-side game to get involved with, but did he have to wear another club's shirt?

It's fair to say that he probably has a decent collection of shirts in his collection. With Standard Liege and Marseille both having competed in Europe during his respective spells there, he'll have swapped shirts a few times.

The same can be said of his time on international duty, having competed for his country during Euro 2016. So with so much training gear at his disposal, why did he opt to turn out in a Galatasaray shirt?

A video of the 23-year-old playing in his new shirt surfaced on social media on Monday morning, showing him highlighting his skills and taking on some friends in a cage.

At one point he even fouls an opponent with a cheeky trip as he tried to escape from being cornered. See the video below...

So far this season, the player is still yet to start a game for Antonio Conte's side, and though he was in the squad during Saturday's 3-1 win over Bournemouth, he failed to make it off the bench.

He has just one league goal to his name and had been a target for West Ham during the January transfer window, but the last minute deal to take him to the Olympic Stadium on loan fell through.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is known to be a fan of Batshuayi, having tried to sign him over the summer, too.

However, Conte hinted that the former Marseille man had not been working hard enough behind the scenes, stating: “When you ask about my players the most important thing is the present, and at the end of the season we see the situation of every single player.

“Now he is working very well with us, he must continue to work.

“If he shows me he deserves to play I will put him in the starting eleven, if he doesn’t then we will continue in this way.”
