If we're being honest, NBA fans and front offices had no idea what to expect from GIannis Antetokounmpo.

Nowhere is that more evident than a look back at the 2013 NBA Draft.

That draft was a bust and didn't yield any superstar players, until the Milwaukee Bucks selected a little-known, but intriguing prospect from Greece with the 15th pick.

Here's a look at the 14 players who were drafted ahead of the Greek Freak by 14 teams who are no doubt kicking themselves.

1. ANTHONY BENNETT, CLEVELAND

The Cavaliers won the draft lottery for the third time in 11 years (they would make it four in 12 the following year). They celebrated by drafting a player who is now out of the NBA after playing with four teams (Cleveland, Milwaukee, Toronto and Brooklyn) in four seasons.

2. VICTOR OLADIPO, ORLANDO

Oladipo has been a solid player and is now an underrated No. 2 man for Russell Westbrook in Oklahoma City. The former Indiana star would probably be the fourth pick if we were running this one back. He's a consistent scorer and has averaged 15.9 points per game in his four seasons.

3. OTTO PORTER, WASHINGTON

Porter has finally made the leap this year, as the Georgetown product has been a valuable player for a good Wizards team. Porter also is fifth in the league with a .437 3-point percentage, and that's not even one of his main skills.

4. CODY ZELLER, CHARLOTTE

The second Indiana player drafted in the top four, Zeller has been "meh" for owner Michael Jordan's Hornets. This year, he's averaging career bests with 10.4 points and 6.5 rebounds as a starter.

5. ALEX LEN, PHOENIX

Len is another disappointment, although he has shown flashes at times for the young Suns. The good news is he's on the correct timeline, as Phoenix is still a couple years from being taken seriously.

6. NERLENS NOEL, NEW ORLEANS

A draft night trade robbed us of "Nerlens in New Orleans," but Noel was unremarkable in Philadelphia. He was shipped to the Dallas Mavericks at the trade deadline in February because the 76ers don't want to ante up on his new contract.

7. BEN McLEMORE, SACRAMENTO

McLemore was in the conversation to be the first pick of the draft but ultimately fell. He's shown why, with no notable moments on a team that needs something, anything to jumpstart any kind of interest and relevance.

8. KENTAVIOUS CALDWELL-POPE, DETROIT

Another guy with a questionable future on a team with a tough contract decision. Caldwell-Pope is a nice defensive player and should be a pretty good 3-point shooter. But like all the young Pistons, Caldwell-Pope just hasn't shown enough quite yet.

9. TREY BURKE, MINNESOTA

Burke was traded to Utah and wasn't able to capture any of the magic which made him a star at Michigan. He's now with the Washington Wizards, serving as an unremarkable sub.

10. C.J. McCOLLUM, PORTLAND

Hey, finally a potential All-Star. The four-year player from Lehigh has turned into one of the NBA's best shooting guards, although Giannis he is not. McCollum averaged 23.0 points per game this season and continues to get better each year.

11. MICHAEL CARTER-WILLIAMS, PHILADELPHIA

This draft was so bad that Carter-Williams won Rookie of the Year even though everyone knew he was just benefitting from a high usage rate for a horrendous Philly team. He's now in Chicago, serving as a depth point guard on a team with no point guard depth.

12. STEVEN ADAMS, OKLAHOMA CITY

In reality, Adams would probably be the third pick (behind Giannis and McCollum) if this draft was re-done with what we know now. He's an impactful player for the Thunder, although he perhaps hasn't made the strides one would've expected this season after a breakout performance in last year's playoffs.

13. KELLY OLYNYK, DALLAS

He was traded to Boston, and man, NBA fans are happy Danny Ainge didn't see anything in Giannis. Add Antetokounmpo to that Boston lost of young assets and players, and that team would be even more scarier down the road than they are now, which is pretty dang scary.

14. SHABAZZ MUHAMMAD, UTAH

He was dealt for Burke to Minnesota in another "what-might-have-been" scenario. Could you imagine in the T-Wolves put Giannis with Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins? That would've really stepped up the rebuild.

That's all folks. Read them and weep.
