Ahead of Borussia Dortmund's Champions League clash with Monaco reports have emerged of an explosion involving the German side's team bus.Just hours before the two teams were due to kick off in the quarter-finals of Europe's elite competition the tie has been thrown into disarray by an explosion believed to have taken place just six miles away from the Westfalenstadion.Dortmund have reacted to the reports by posting a tweet which translates to: "At our bus departure, an incident has occurred. More information to follow"Specific details about what has exactly happened remain sketchy but German police have also confirmed that an incident has taken place.German news publication Bild reported that one person has been injured in the incident with Marc Bartra rumoured to be on the way to hospital, although Dortmund are yet to confirm this.

At this early stage, it is important to not speculate who, what or why has caused this horrific event but we can now only hope no one is seriously hurt.

According to senior ESPN writer Mark Ogden, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone said: "'I'm speechless and concerned. That's the first thing that comes to my mind," when the news initially broke.

Despite the incident in Germany, Tuesday's other Champions League tie featuring Juventus and Barcelona has not been affected and is expected to kick off as normal.

Dortmund have already confirmed that the match has been postponed by 45 minutes and will now take place on Wednesday.
