Out of the ring scandals have long been a problem for the WWE, but it is rare that they usually come along so often for the company.

The latest centring around the idea of bullying leading to an announcer's departure from the company has not gone down well with fans.

Backstage problems

It was reported last week that Smackdown Live announcer Mauro Ranallo would likely be leaving the company when his contract ends later this year.

Ranallo hasn't been seen on Smackdown for several weeks with Tom Phillips stepping in as Smackdown's play by play commentator.

Several rumours and wrestling personalities claimed that Ranallo was absent due to backstage bullying at the hands of his broadcast colleague John Bradshaw Layfield.

The rumours led to a lot of social media reaction encouraging support for Ranallo and condemning JBL.

In the immediate aftermath of the reports, JBL not only tweeted support for Ranallo, but also tried to clear his own name.

His social media actions on Monday however did little to try and achieve that goal though as he began blocking numerous Twitter profiles who had voiced their opinions on the subject.

According to a report by Ringside News, Layfield spent Monday blocking accounts that were following both him and Ranallo.

He also blocked profiles that had tweeted messages of support for the Smackdown Live announcer.

In a move which won't help his claims of innocence, Layfield has made more headlines by reacting in such a negative way to the stories.

Fans have been calling for the company to fire the former WWE Champion amidst the reports and his future with the company certainly has been called into question now.

JBL's final episode?

Tuesday night will see the second part of the Superstar shake up which began on Monday and saw no less than 13 names move to Monday nights.

While Smackdown lost a plethora of talent to RAW, Tuesday night will reveal which names will be joining the blue brand for the foreseeable future.

The last trade announced for RAW did focus upon the commentary team as Byron Saxton moved to Smackdown in place of David Otunga.

Saxton may appear on Tuesday night and fans will be eager to see if Layfield also appears at the commentary desk.

If JBL does announce Smackdown on Tuesday, it could prove to be his final show if the company are going to bow to fan pressure, and it will also be interesting to see what reaction he gets from the crowd.
