New York’s season keeps finding new ways to hit unbelievable lows and another blow was dealt this week as it has been reported that Joakim Noah will need surgery for a torn left rotator cuff according to The Vertical. This news comes on the heels of losing Derrick Rose with a torn left meniscus which ended his season with surgery. The former MVP managed to appear in a majority of games for the Knicks before the fluke accident put him on the shelf.A big difference between Rose and his former Chicago teammate is that he is on a one year deal and the team can quickly pivot from him if they decide to go in another direction. When it comes to the big man, NYC is in it for the long haul with him.Noah’s $72 million contract has already been a sore spot for fans of the franchise before this news was revealed. Now, that number seems even more dubious as the club faces the prospect of getting their starting center back in almost half a year. When he and the New York Knicks came to an agreement on a four-year deal, things looked like they were going to work out for the weary team. Everything since the summer signings of he, Rose, Brandon Jennings and Courtney Lee have basically been a disaster.Observers correctly questioned his fit on a team that would need to add shooting talent to keep up with the top contenders and because of his decline with the Chicago Bulls during the season prior.

The big man’s struggles have continued in the Big Apple and the future is now murky.

Recently, he was suspended for 20 games as a result of a violation of the NBA’s anti-drug policy. The effective suspension seemed to be a coda for a lost season, but in New York there is always more news to be made.

Carmelo Anthony’s future with the team has also come into question and he sat out the final game of the season. Knicks brass no has only the lottery to look forward to as an organisation.

Hopefully, a lucky draw will have them in a much better spot by the end of this summer.

Some questions about Anthony, Rose and Noah will all be waiting for the team whenever they learn what their selection will be in this year’s draft. That might end up being just as important by the time they’re on the clock in June.
