As you would expect, Bayern Munich dominated the early stages of Wednesday night's Champions League quarter-final clash with Real Madrid.Zinedine Zidane's men were unable to get out of their own half for much of the opening quarter of an hour and, come the 25th minute, the pressure paid off.Thiago Alcantara's corner was met powerfully by Arturo Vidal, who rifled a header above Keylor Navas to break the deadlock. The Chilean then had a golden opportunity to make it 2-0 in the the second minute of stoppage time after the referee gave a harsh penalty against Dani Carvajal. However, Vidal tried to kick the ball too hard and saw his effort sail over the crossbar.Real's best chance of the half to level the scores came in the 18th minute, when Karim Benzema was found in the 18-yard box with a cross from the right. But as he has done so many times throughout his career, Manuel Neuer came to the rescue with a phenomenal save to deny the Frenchman.Benzema's header looked like it was going to find the top-left corner, only for Neuer to stretch out his right arm and knock the ball onto the crossbar. Check it out below.

Stunning - but Neuer wasn't finished there.

The Germany international made two more incredible saves to stop Real from running away with the game, after Cristiano Ronaldo drew the away side level in the 47th minute.

In the next clip, Neuer produced an acrobatic stop to deny Gareth Bale's header from point-blank range.

And in the 75th minute, Neuer stuck out a strong fist to block Ronaldo's powerful shot from the same kind of distance.

Neuer's efforts were ultimately in vain. With Bayern down to ten men after Javi Martinez's sending off, Real took the lead with 13 minutes remaining thanks to another Ronaldo strike.

The Portuguese timed his run to perfection to fire home from Marco Asensio's cross and secure an important 2-1 win for Los Blancos.
