The PFA Player of the Year shortlist was announced this morning, ahead of the conclusion of the 2016/17 Premier League season. Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante have both made the six-man list, and are joined by Harry Kane, Alexis Sanchez, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku.   It's no surprise that Chelsea are well represented. The Blues are seven points clear at the top of the league, with rivals Tottenham in second. Therefore, Kane is justifiably on the list.     The league's top-scorer, Lukaku, has earned his place, as has Sanchez, who has carried his Arsenal side for much of the season.     Ibrahimovic also deserves his place on the shortlist, his 17 goals and five assists in 27 games this term has helped Manchester United drive towards a top four spot.    However, there are one or two big names missing from the list.  Tottenham's Dele Alli, who has had a stunning season, has been overlooked for the award. The England international has 16 goals and five assists, which is a remarkable return for a midfielder, let alone one who is only 21-years-old.  Although he missed out on being shortlisted for player of the year, Alli leads the way on the PFA Young Player of the Year shortlist. He is joined by teammate Kane, Lukaku, Michael Keane, Jordan Pickford and Leroy Sane.   This means that 23-year-old's Kane and Lukaku make both lists, and many fans are suggesting Alli should have had the same honour.

Fans will also argue that Liverpool's Sadio Mane should have made the shortlist. The Senegalese winger scored 13 goals and made five assists in his first season with the Reds.   He was a key part of Jurgen Klopp's title challenge, but after the 25-year-old left for the Africa Cup of Nations in January, Liverpool slipped too far behind Chelsea and their bid has effectively ended.   To add to the disappointment, Mane suffered a season-ending knee injury last week and will be unlikely to feature in the league again until August.     He still had a brilliant season though, and many took to Twitter to vent their frustrations that both Alli and Mane had been overlooked:
