After rejecting a new contract at Everton, Romelu Lukaku is sure to be a man in-demand this summer.

The Toffees striker is still only 23-years-old, but he has 143 goals in his career and is the Premier League's current top goalscorer with 23.

The Belgian would command a huge fee should he leave Goodison Park, a sum that is likely to dwarf the £28 million Everton paid Chelsea for him nearly three years ago.

After moving from Anderlecht to Stamford Bridge aged 17, Lukaku never really found his feet for the Blues, failing to score 15 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Of course, he was never truly the star man during his time at Chelsea and was still learning the game. No, Didier Drogba was the main man when Lukaku was the understudy and the latter was forced to have loan spells with West Brom and Everton to gain experience.

Nowadays, things are a little bit different. Lukaku is one of the most potent strikers in the Premier League and a 39-year-old Drogba has just joined United Soccer League side Phoenix Rising as a player and co-owner.

There are those that believe Chelsea hitman Diego Costa will move on at the end of the current season and Drogba believes the door is open for Lukaku to return to London and prove himself.

"If he comes to Chelsea it will be great for the club," Drogba told Sky Sports.

"He knows the house already and I think he wants to prove he can be successful here, he didn't get the chance to do it.

"Chelsea is his club since he was young, so why not?

"He wants to be the best. He's really working hard to become the best.

"I am always challenging him. When he scores one goal, I expect him to score two. We have a very good relationship.

"I think he's my little brother. He's a really good guy. He's a very good player, but also a great man."

Lukaku has not been shy about his ambitions to play in the Champions League and contend for the highest honours.

Under Antonio Conte, Chelsea are almost certainly going to the Premier League champions this year and are in the last four of the FA Cup. Could a return to his first club in England make sense?
