The superstar shake-up looks to have made a mess of numerous storylines with stars switching brands earlier this week.

Kevin Owens was moved to SmackDown LIVE and will defend the title at Payback against Monday Night RAW’s Chris Jericho, with the winner being moved to the blue brand.

There’s a similar situation with the WWE Championship too, with RAW’s Bray Wyatt battling SmackDown's Randy Orton – although the winner isn’t expected to join the red brand.

Thanks to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the upcoming plans for some titles have been revealed.

In the latest edition, it’s been claimed that the upcoming House of Horrors match at the Payback pay-per-view will be the blow-off contest between The Eater of Worlds and The Viper, where Orton will retain his title – so the WWE Championship isn’t being moved to RAW.

An interesting note on the stipulation, though, is that the WWE apparently still has no idea what a House of Horrors match is.

They recently sent out a survey to fans asking what they’d want to see in the match, so expect plenty of creepiness, much like we witnessed at WrestleMania 33 but don’t be surprised if it ends up being an underwhelming mess.

UPCOMING TITLE FEUDS

AJ Styles became the number one contender for Owens’ United States Championship this week, and they’re set to do battle at the Backlash event in May for the title which means Jericho will be losing to The Prizefighter when they next meet.

While that feud is going on, Orton’s next challenger for the WWE Championship is expected to be Baron Corbin, somebody who has impressed a lot since the brand extension came into full effect.

The reason for this is because officials reportedly believe the feud is too early for Shinsuke Nakamura, even if he does seem like the perfect opponent.

Brock Lesnar’s first defence of the Universal Championship is expected to come in June or July, so either the Extreme Rules event or Bad Blood, where his opponent is set to be Braun Strowman.

They’re claiming that the long-term plan for The Beast Incarnate is still to meet Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans next year, so WWE will continue to keep the two apart until that feud eventually kicks off next year.

While the plans don’t seem overly exciting right now, patience will be key as it seems like there are still plans to have AJ Styles back in the WWE Championship picture, and The King of Strong Style might not be too far from the mix either.
