Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving will be linked together for the rest of their careers because of their shared history together. Both point guards are absolutely dynamite scorers that thrive with the ball in their hands.

Curry does the majority of his damage from behind the arc, while Irving is a literal wizard with the ball in his hands as he darts through the lane for amazing finishes. Curry prevailed in their first Finals meeting as Irving left game one with a knee injury.

Irving danced circles around the unanimous MVP in their second meeting as he delivered an exclamation point when he launched the three pointer that would put the Cavaliers up for good in game seven of that series last year.

So the series is technically tied 1-1 between the two as most observers anticipate a rubber match this summer between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Everyone assumed that this would be the case once the Dubs poached Kevin Durant last summer.

The Chef might not be out here dominating in the same fashion that he did last year during his historic MVP run, but he is still extremely dangerous. In fact, even more so now that he has KD alongside him.

One Reddit user decided to have this argument four years ago and found that the two stars were more similar than most thought. In fact, this is before both MVPs for Curry and Kyrie’s huge 2016 postseason.

At that point both Curry and Irving were labeled as largely injury-prone guards who had shown flashes of potential. No one could have realized that they were talking about two premier guards in the league five years from then.

The results that he found are eerie in every way as Irving and Curry’s rookie statlines were very similar and that trend would continue until Golden State’s offensive explosion in 2015. Now, both men will try and help their team to a second title in the span of three years.

To show how much has changed since that post, he included Tyreke Evans in the analysis as a peer of these two All-Stars. Evans is a nice player, but he is not the perennial All-Star that either Uncle Drew or Chef Curry have become.

No one knows what will happen between now and June. Hopefully the two will help settle this debate with a true back-and-forth series between their squads. The postseason will prove to be exciting for both players as they try to claim dominance on the biggest stage.
