When rumours started to circulate that the highly anticipated fight between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko was called off, many people were left in shock.

The Ukrainian was suspected to have an eye injury which would mean he would miss the triple title fight against Joshua at the end of the month.

This was sure to spread panic to boxing fans, but promoter Eddie Hearn wanted to put the record straight.

IFL TV, an online boxing channel, spoke with Hearn, who said that the Brit received a message from Ron Lewis at The Times who asked if Klitschko was withdrawing from the fight because of the aforementioned eye injury.

Comically, he said he needed “a new pair of pants,” after hearing this. Due to the concern, he phoned Klitschko’s promoter Bernd Boente who initially didn’t pick up, worrying Hearn further.

“He just phoned me back and said what is this rubbish? Absolute farce. Everything is 100%.”

Cue the breath of relief.

This fight is billed to be a game changer, but is Joshua too relaxed?

Many are expecting one of the bouts of the decade as two heavyweights will slog it out in the ring.

If Klitschko wins, it will not come as a huge surprise given his statue and record – 64 wins, 53 of them knockouts. However, Joshua may be the underdog looking at the physical match up, but he is the undefeated fighter in this bout – 18 wins, all by knockout.

And it seems Joshua is not daunted by the prospect that many of us would feel stepping into the ring with the Ukrainian (even with training).

Former British boxer, Johnny Nelson told Sky Sports: “I have never seen him, or many of them [other boxers], so chilled, so calm.”

Joshua has also uploaded a video to Twitter of him skipping at ease with a rope, showing fans that he is ready for his bout.

Klitschko has also been on Twitter, showing his intentions for the fight. He posted a picture with the tagline, “Offense is the best form of defense.”

All that is left to say is ding, ding, ding.
