It's not been a bad week for Real Madrid, all things considered. First they beat Bayern Munich on their home patch in the first leg of their Champion League encounter and then saw off Sporting Gijon without three of their best players.

You'd think that all would be rosy behind the scenes of the Sanitago Bernabeu, especially after watching Barcelona struggle past Real Sociedad in their own game this weekend.

However, that doesn't appear to be the case at all, as reports in Spain as suggesting that the playing staff is on the verge of civil war with five of the club's star upset with Cristiano Ronaldo, and he, in turn, is just as annoyed with them.

According to Diario Gol, before his brace against Bayern on Tuesday night, Ronaldo's goal tally had not been what it was before, leading some players to question his apparent selfish attitude.

But in the days that followed, Ronaldo met with Sergio Ramos to discuss the players who were upset with him, and when Ramos spilled the beans, Ronaldo became upset with them for questioning him.

Former Spurs pair Gareth Bale and Luka Modric are said have Ronaldo in their bad books. Bale is annoyed because Ronaldo's insistence on playing the number 9 role has pushed him out wide on the left, while Modric isn't a fan of the extreme individualism that he believes impacts on the rest of the squad.

Elsewhere, Alvaro Morata, Lucas Vázquez and Marco Asensio are all also believed to be upset as Ronaldo's continued involvement in the first team impacts how many minutes they all get on the pitch.

While this could threaten to derail Real's title challenge, the club will have to find a way to put it behind them with such a big week ahead of them.

It certainly won't be the first time that Ronaldo has upset his teammates, but with pressure building towards the end of what could be a fantastically successful season.

On Tuesday they host Bayern Munich for the second leg of their Champions League quarter final, while next weekend sees them take on Barcelona in the season's second Clasico.

Real will also hope to have Ronaldo, Bale and Karim Benzema at their disposal for the games this week, as so far they have only shown that they can dispose of La Liga's smaller sides without them.
