It was always going to be a tough ask for Granada to stay in La Liga, regardless of who took charge for their final seven games of the season. And yet fans of the Premier League have certainly taken a lot more interest in the relegation battle in Spain's top division since the 19th placed side bizarrely appointed Tony Adams as manager last week.It certainly caught all of us by surprise. But just one game into his tenure, the Granada hierarchy must already be having doubts on their new boss. That's because Adams team lost 3-0 to Celta Vigo at home on Sunday night - further showing the magnitude of the task ahead.More worryingly, it was effectively a Celta reserves side after Eduardo Berizzo made 10 changes to his previous starting XI.After promising to give a few players 'a kick up the arse' it would appear Adams' motivational methods didn't quite pay off as goals from Jozabed, Marcelo Diaz and Claudio Beauvue handed the visitors all three points. It wasn't all bad for Adams, though, he did manage to get himself in the La Liga record books.Yes that's right the former Arsenal hero made history before a ball was even kicked by becoming the first manager in La Liga history to pick a team made up of 11 different nationalities.

Even stranger, not a single one of them were Spanish!

So even if this Granada stint does prove to be a complete disaster at least he'll walk away with some kind of accomplishment (of sorts).

Nevertheless, the lack of cohesiveness in his new team was there for all to see on Sunday and vast improvements are required if they are to stand any chance of avoiding the drop.

There are just six games to play, Granada sit seven points from safety and you feel it is going to take a miraculous Adams-inspired turnaround to stay up now.
