While there’s understandable excitement surrounding Kurt Angle’s return to the WWE in the general manager role for Monday Night RAW, fans still want to see him compete inside of a ring at least one more time.

It’ll be the perfect way to end such an illustrious career, by having a final match in the company where he made his name as a professional wrestler and there’s still hope that this will certainly be the case.

ANGLE'S RETURN

It’s something Jim Ross predicted too, where he revealed that a year-long run as general manager of the red brand could result in a final match at WrestleMania 34, but everything seems to revolve around whether the Olympic gold medallist can pass a WWE medical.

If he can get through that, then he’ll be in a match. If not, then it’s probably time to come to terms with the fact that it won’t be happening; not in a WWE ring anyway.

However, it seems as if WWE does have plans in place should Angle be able to pass a WWE medical, and they’re huge.

The news comes from Billi Bhatti over on the Dirty Sheets Podcast – which you can listen to by clicking here – and in his breaking news segment which was reported on Sportskeeda, he revealed that should Angle pass that physical, then tentative plans will see him battle Seth Rollins.

It’s a surprising name, to say the least, but it seems as if Stephanie McMahon’s grudge with Rollins won’t end there and this could see Angle be brought into the fold – while AJ Styles was also in the running to be his first opponent, but his nixed move to RAW ended those plans.

ANGLE VS. ROLLINS?

He’s claiming that the seeds were planted last week on RAW when they shared the ring, and to make this happen it’ll surprisingly be Angle that will be turning heel should the feud go ahead.

Apparently, he’ll claim that his loyalties are with the McMahon’s as they brought him back to WWE and it could probably see him cost Rollins the chance at capturing a championship.

He noted that the storyline is likely to be going ahead regardless of the outcome of the physical.

Whether or not he passes, Angle is expected to eventually turn heel and side with the McMahon’s, and it’ll be a good dynamic to have a heel general manager on one brand with the uber-face in Daniel Bryan over on SmackDown LIVE.

If he can’t compete again, then he added that they could end up finding different opponents to battle The Architect instead.

It’s clear, though, that fans would love to see the match take place, considering Angle has reiterated in interviews that he’s a big fan of Rollins, despite the unfair reputation he may have of being an unsafe worker.
