Neymar has lived up to the expectations that he arrived at the Camp Nou with, since joining Barcelona from Brazilian club Santos in 2013.

The Selecao star hasn't been at the club four years, but has already proven himself to be worth every penny of his £49 million transfer to the Catalan giants, and a bit of a bargain at that.

It's hard to ever imagine that West Ham were once in for a player that can now be considered to be worth double the fee that Barca paid for the forward nearly four years ago.

However, it's now clear to see why the Spanish giants were ready to take such a huge gamble on a player that had never previously set foot on a pitch in Europe before.

Neymar's arrival was a signal of Barcelona's intentions for the then 21-year-old to commit the rest of his career to the Camp Nou, and become a player that could be spoken about in a similar breath to Lionel Messi.

It's fair to say that the 25-year-old is certainly on the right track to becoming the calibre of player that Messi is, although he is not the quite there yet, and has already helped the club to two La Liga titles and the Champions League amongst his nine major honours at Barca.

Barca face losing Neymar

But while Barcelona have no intentions of selling the Brazilian, they could face seeing their key forward player leaving the Camp Nou in the future.

Neymar only signed a new deal that will keep at the club until 2021 back in October 2016, but the forward has confessed that his club will have to forget any intentions that they have of him retiring at the club.

The forward has formed a lethal, and arguably the best, forward three at Barcelona, alongside Messi and Luis Suarez - while it is considered that the club see Neymar being the heir to Messi once the Argentine retires.

However, although Neymar has netted 100 goals in 180 appearances for Barca and is satisfied with life in Catalonia, the 15-goal striker has confessed that he has the desire to one day finish his playing days at Brazilian outfit Flamengo.

Forward reveals Brazil desire

“I have a lot of desire to one day play for Flamengo, with the Maracana full, playing in the Copa Libertadores,” Neymar revealed to Canal Esporte Interativo, per Goal.

Neymar's career started in the Brazilian Serie A with Santos, which gave him the platform to capture the attention of Barcelona, and won the Copa Libertadores during his time in his homeland. But the Barcelona star still has a hunger to return to South America one day.

It's been 36 years since his favoured club, Flamengo, won the Copa Libertadores which Neymar won with Santos in 2011, and it's clear the 25-year-old is ready to quit Barcelona to win further silverware in Brazil and fulfil his ambitions some time in the future.
