If it wasn’t for Cristiano Ronaldo, Bayern Munich would probably be in the Champions League semi-final.

The Germans were winning 1-0 at the Allianz Arena in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final before Ronaldo popped up with two goals meaning Real Madrid took a 2-1 lead back to the Bernabeu.

And Los Blancos had the Portuguese superstar to thank once again as his hat-trick saw Zinedine Zidane’s side triumph 4-2 after extra-time and progress to the last-four.

Despite his heroics - which also brought up his 100th Champions League goal - some deluded Madrid supporters started booing Ronaldo early in the game.

Ronaldo hit back after he equalised on the night by putting his finger to his lips to silence the minority inside the stadium. And, after the game, he asked the supporters to stop booing him.

“The only thing I ask is that they don't boo me because I give my best in every game,” he said after his hat-trick.

While Zidane added: “Maybe they will not whistle him anymore.”

The thought of some Madridistas booing one of the greatest players to have ever played the game is just ridiculous.

But it’s not just Madrid fans that were hating on Ronaldo on Tuesday night.

Scoring five goals in the two legs against the Bavarians simply wasn’t enough for some people - including three ESPN pundits.

Former Liverpool player Steve Nicol, Scotland legend Craig Burley and Venezuelan Alejandro Moreno proceeded to slag off Ronaldo about how terrible he was against Bayern after the tie. No, seriously.

It baffles believe.
