Potentially setting the wheels in motion for a huge fight in the future, boxing heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have been engaging in a war of words on Twitter this week.Joshua is currently preparing to face Wladimir Klitschko in front of a record crowd at Wembley next week but took some time out to trade a few blows with Fury. The self-proclaimed 'Gypsy King' has earned a reputation for slating his rivals online and labelled the current IBF champ 'a poor man's Frank Bruno' in a fiery exchange.Joshua more than held his own, however, and cheekily invited Fury to attend his upcoming clash with Klitschko.Of course, the duo are already well acquainted with other and back in 2011 Fury was even quoted as complimenting the upcoming amateur at the time."I sparred the ABA champion [Anthony Joshua] - he's red hot him, he's very good," Fury said, as per The Sun."To be honest with you, I thought to myself, I'll only take it easy because he's only an amateur and he probably won't spar with me again if I go mad, he's rushed out at me, he threw a 1-2 left hook and then bashed me with a big uppercut right on me chin."If I had a bit of a weak chin like David Price I would've been knocked out for a month."AJ's coach at the time, Sean Murphy has revealed how their three-round sparring session actually went down.Murphy confirmed that his former protege rocked Fury in the first round to such an extent he grabbed the ropes. He recovered and was beginning to relish the challenge Joshua posed when Murphy wisely pulled the future world champion out of the encounter."I think Tyson may have underestimated him a bit, he's come out he's gone 1-2-3 and Joshua's gone pop-pop-uppercut and wobbled him," Murphy said.

"He's [Fury] grabbed hold of the ropes and I've gone, 'oi you can't hold the ropes,' Tyson went 'oh sorry-sorry,' first round I'd say Joshua won it, he out boxed him.

"Then second round Tyson started playing around a little bit, giving him a little bit of verbal and Joshua was trying to look for the big punch.

"Then obviously Tyson was just picking him off then.

"So he's [Joshua] come back I've told him off and said you've got to do in the third round what you did in the first round and just box him.

"It was a pretty even third round, so then I said 'jump out Josh' and then Tyson Fury's going 'I'll give him one more round' and I said no you've done alright and said Josh get out."

Should Joshua follow in Fury's footsteps and beat Klitschko, a possible future meeting could still be a way off yet.

The current IBF champion will have at least one mandatory opponent to face later this year while Fury is yet to return to the ring since 2015, when he overcame Klitschko in Germany.

But it's a fight that will no doubt still generate plenty of interest whenever they eventually lock horns.
