Ever since Finn Balor made the jump to WWE, one thing that continues to come up is whether or not he’ll be forming another stable.

In this case, the Balor Club.

THE CLUB

You can’t blame the fans for wanting it to happen, especially since Balor’s Bullet Club reached new levels of popularity in New Japan Pro Wrestling, and gained a massive following on a global scale.

It proved to be a success, and talk of forming a new group picked up steam when WWE first started using the term ‘Balor Club’, along with the fact that Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson jumped ship to WWE shortly after AJ Styles did the same.

It’s marketable and it’s something fans would certainly get behind if it happened.

However, according to a new report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there’s only one reason why WWE officials refuse to let the former Universal Champion form the Balor Club on television.

Speaking on the latest instalment of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer claimed that WWE’s current plans only feature promoting Balor as a face, and have no plans for him to align himself with Gallows or Anderson anytime soon.

NO HEEL TURN

To team up with them, he’d need to turn heel and that’s not something WWE is prepared to do right now, especially with how much money they can make off him as a face as he’s insanely popular with the audience.

The reason this was even brought up in the first place was because a fan asked Meltzer whether Balor could create the stable to battle Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose – as all three members of The Shield are now on the same brand.

He admitted that as unlikely as it is, he’s sure the match will go ahead at some point in the future, so that probably shut the door entire on a potential heel turn for Balor, although you could argue that Gallows and Anderson probably need the help right now as they seem directionless in the RAW tag team division.

Balor is notorious on social media for the teases he drops, and he was at it again this week where fans started to believe that could reunite with his Bullet Club brothers based on what he posted on his official Instagram account.

It’s a good move by WWE, as they haven’t fully been able to utilise and promote Balor as a face because of the cruel injury he sustained at SummerSlam and has only returned to in-ring action recently.

Once they can get enough out of him and he can establish himself as the top star on RAW then it would be wise to pull the trigger on a Bullet Club reunion which not only adds shock value, but it allows Balor to get through many singles feuds that fans want to see before switching up the dynamic.

Plus, the end goal sounds like an eventual face-off with The Shield, and WWE probably won’t want to give that to fans right away; there’s no harm in waiting a little while.
