The Memphis Grizzlies were not given much of a chance to upset the San Antonio Spurs and progress to the second round of the playoffs.  It doesn't come as a surprise as the Spurs finished in the second seed in the Western Conference with a record of 61-21 and the Grizzlies grabbed the seventh seed ending the year 43-39. The series appeared to be going in the direction that we all expected when the Spurs took a 2-0 lead with two straight wins at home, but Memphis have flipped the script.David Fizdale's men have clawed the series back to 2-2 after a dramatic and exhilarating encounter at the FedEx Forum last night. A back-and-forth encounter ended with the home team picking up a 111-108 win in overtime thanks to a game-winning shot by All-Star center Marc Gasol. The Spaniard hit a lofted floater over LaMarcus Aldridge with 0.7 seconds to go to send a raucous crowd in Tennessee into raptures. Gasol finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds in the game and despite getting the headlines for the big shot, his teammate Mike Conley deserves his fair of praise too. The point guard scored a career-high 35 points, which was also a franchise postseason record. He almost posted a triple-double too as he put up eight assists and nine rebounds. The sight of the duo on the floor for Memphis is a wonderful thing for the home fans as they suffered a sweep at the hands of San Antonio with the pair out injured last season. It's no secret that Gasol and Conley share a great relationship having been teammates for nine years. In the last two offseasons, both players became free agents but they convinced one another to remain in Memphis together. Following the win, the big man and the guard shared a beautiful embrace after finishing their post-match interview with ESPN which displayed just how close they are. Inevitably, social media loved the moment and the image of the duo was doing the rounds.

Despite the vital win, the Grizzlies can't spend too much time celebrating as the series will now switch back to Texas in what will prove to be a crucial game three in terms of deciding a winner for the series.

"I know we're a seventh seed, but we feel like we beat the best teams in the West and that we can at least compete with the best, so our guys have a lot of confidence that way," coach Fizdale said.

They will need all that confidence if they are to cause an upset at a hugely difficult AT&T Center.
