Ahead of their FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City, Arsenal would have been wary of Kevin de Bruyne’s delivery from set pieces.

The Belgian’s ability the whip in a cross or shot means that Arsenal’s defence would have to be on their toes at every free-kick and corner.

But, luckily for Arsene Wenger’s side, there was someone looking out for them when De Bruyne stood over the ball.

De Bruyne and David Silva were deliberating over a City corner in the 10th minute before the Spaniard ran away.

It meant De Bruyne ready to whip it into the Arsenal box.

But the linesman had other ideas.

Just as he was about to take the kick, he stepped in front of the midfielder to prevent him from kicking the ball.

It was all very strange but, to say that De Bruyne didn’t appreciate it would be an understatement.

De Bruyne's failed corner

Just check out his reaction:

While the semi-final between Spurs and Chelsea on Saturday evening was enthralling, the clash between Manchester City and Arsenal was more cagey.

There were very few chances in the opening exchanges with Laurent Koscielny’s offside goal being the main talking point.

Arsene Wenger opted for a back-three once again as they attempt to stifle the danger of the likes of De Bruyne, Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero.

No doubt De Bruyne will have a few words with the linesman as the teams head down the tunnel at half-time, though.

Cheer up, Kevin.
