Few people gave Arsenal a chance ahead of their FA Cup semi-final against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. And even fewer people expected the Gunners to win the match when Sergio Aguero put City ahead in the 62nd minute. However, Arsene Wenger’s side showed some uncharacteristic resilience and equalised nine minutes later through Nacho Monreal. Alexis Sanchez then sent Arsenal through to the FA Cup final with a close-range finish in extra-time.This was the first time since their 5-2 win over Tottenham in November 2012 that Arsenal had came from behind to beat one of the Premier League’s so-called ‘big six’.And Wenger, needless to say, cut an absolutely delighted figure when referee Craig Pawson blew the full-time whistle in the 121st minute of the match.
