Judy Murray has absolutely no sympathy for Romanian team captain Ilie Nastase. The 70-year-old has been suspended by the International Tennis Federation after abusing Johanna Konta and an umpire during a Fed cup match against Sorana Cirstea.Additionally, the Romanian and former Grand Slam champion had already been under fire after making derogatory comments about the unborn child of Serena Williams.Following an interview in English, Nastase turned to a team member and said in Russian: “Let's see what colour it has. Chocolate with milk?"The former world number one, who has a reputation for controversial behavior, seems now to be searching for redemption as it has been reported that he sent flowers to every member of the British tennis team. After offending the team during Saturday’s match, and being widely criticised for his actions last week, Nastase will have to make amends if he wants to continue as Romania’s team captain.

Judy Murray destroys Nastase on Twitter

However, the mother of world number, Andy Murray, sees his actions as a hollow gesture.

Never short of an opinion, Judy Murray has stated on Twitter that the bunch of flowers will not make up for his actions and said: “I know exactly where I would plant those flowers.”

While we can only speculate on where she would plant them, we are fairly sure she didn’t mean they would be going to a sun-kissed meadow.

Murray is also the former captain of the British team which has led some to suggest Nastase wouldn’t have got away with only a ban had she still been incumbent in the position.

The mother of two, who actively battles the subjugation of women in sport, leads an initiative called SheRallies with the LTA. Their aim is to attract and retain more girls and women in tennis across the U.K.

Nastase is currently under investigation by the ITA and is likely to face a ban.
