John Terry announced last week that he will be leaving Chelsea at the end of the season after 19 glorious years with the club.
The former England international has made 713 appearances for the Blues and 578 of those have been as captain.
"I feel I still have plenty to offer but understand that opportunities here will be limited for me," Terry said on his decision.
That's proven to be the case all season long with boss Antonio Conte opting to play a 3-4-3 formation since their 3-0 defeat away to Arsenal in September.
That has meant Gary Cahill and David Luiz have been automatic starters with, more often than not, Cesar Azpilicueta starting too.
Since Kurt Zouma's return from injury, JT has found himself even further down the pecking order and he knew it was time to go.
However, his influence off the pitch will be as big of a miss as anything else when he finally departs Stamford Bridge - unless your name is Victor Moses.
As you can see from the video below, Terry manages to floor the Nigerian international during a training exercise, much to the delight of Conte, Zouma and Michy Batshuayi.
Moses doesn't appear seriously hurt, but it certainly knocked him for six!
Terry's leadership has been a staple of the football club ever since his debut back in 1998, and Conte knows that losing his influence in the dressing room will not be easy for the Blues.
"I am not surprised about this [the reaction]. I am repeating that John, for me in this first season, is very important. He is helping me on and off the pitch," Conte said.
"He is a great captain, the problem is that John wants to play regularly and for this reason we have to respect his decision. I was a footballer and when you arrive at this point of your career, and your body tells you to continue it is right to.
"We have to respect his decision. If you ask me if next season it is a serious loss...yes, I think so. I am seeing what John is doing this season in the changing room. We are building a foundation and he is important to this."
