Unsurprisingly, there was plenty of fallout from Barcelona’s dramatic El Clasico victory against Real Madrid.Lionel Messi’s injury-time winner helped Barca to a 3-2 victory over their rivals and gave everyone associated with the Catalan club hope of winning La Liga this season.Messi’s brace - which brought up his 500th goal for the club - along with Ivan Rakitic’s screamer meant the Catalan club moved level on points with Madrid but ahead of them on the head-to-head record - although they have played a game more. And it was Messi’s masterclass that left the footballing world in awe.Not only did the Argentine superstar bag his 499th and 500th goal for Barca, but he was sensational throughout the 90 minutes. Was this the performance that saw him surpass Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo and become the undisputed best player in the world?Well, that was the opinion of many - including former Barca player Marc Bartra. The Borussia Dortmund defender has had a pretty tough few weeks after suffering a broken wrist after his side’s bus was bombed on their way to their Champions League clash against Monaco. With his wrist recovering, Barca tuned in to watch his former teammate Messi stun the Bernabeu with a 92nd-minute winner.

Bartra's tweet

And to celebrate, he took to Twitter to write: “D10S.”

It is a nickname originally given to Diego Maradona, with Dios meaning God and the Argentine legend wearing the iconic number 10 shirt.

And the nickname has been passed onto Messi, with Bartra clearly wanting to congratulate him for reaching 500 Barcelona goals and producing an incredible performance in El Clasico.

It was a tweet that has been retweeted 38,000 times and ‘liked’ 46,000 times. However, it appears that not everyone enjoyed it.

Bartra recieved death threats

In fact, some vile Twitter users replied with death threats in Spanish.

One wrote: “I wish the doctors that operated on you didn’t save you.”

As per 101 Great Goals, another shocking reply said: “I wish the bomb exploded on your face”, while another read: “What a shame it did not end your life.”

After everything he’s been through in the past month, Bartra certainly doesn’t deserve these death threats after an innocent tweet worshipping one of the greatest footballers to have ever played the sport.
