Who is the greatest dribbler in world football?

Neymar? Lionel Messi? Cristiano Ronaldo?

It’s hard to determine just how good a footballer is at dribbling.

For strikers, you can point to the amount of goals they score each season, while for goalkeepers and defenders, you can look at the clean sheets they’ve earned.

But what stats can you look at to decide who is the best dribbler?

Well, CIES - an international centre for Sports studies - have produced a formula to come up with the 100 greatest dribblers in world football.

“The dribbling index is calculated by dividing the number of dribbles attempted by the percentage of successful ones. This allows us taking into account dribbling skills from both a quantitative and a qualitative perspective,” they state on their website.

Therefore, CIES have identified the very best dribblers in the top five leagues in Europe (Premier League, Ligue 1, La Lita, Serie A and the Bundesliga).

And you might be surprised that none of the three names we mentioned earlier - Neymar, Messi or Ronaldo - occupy the number one slot.

Instead, it’s former Barcelona and current Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore that tops the list 70% of his 194 dribbles have been successful.

Unfortunately for Traore, while he’s got the pace to beat defenders for fun, he doesn’t quite have the finishing product yet and hasn’t been able to help his side in their battle against relegation.

Trailing in Traore’s wake, are Hazard, Bastia’s Allan Saint-Maximin and Neymar.

Wilfred Zaha, Messi, and Mousa Dembele are also in the top 10.

Incidentally, Ronaldo doesn't even make the top 100.
