Adam Rose is a former WWE star who was released from the company after he was in violation of their no tolerance policy for conduct infringements. He came up through NXT and was popular for his strange party-boy gimmick and teammate in a bunny costume.

The Bunny was one of the stranger gimmicks to come out of the recent years of the WWE. The large athletic performer inside of the suit was really Justin Gabriel and no one really knew that fact until much later in his run with the company.

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Rose told him about his WWE journey and what he’s been up to since leaving. He was incredibly candid over the course of their conversation and the topic inevitably shifted toward the identity of his furry friend while he was in the ring.

He said: “We were in a meeting for two hours before Raw, saying ‘Who is going to be The Bunny?’ and they couldn’t decide. I wanted [Justin] Gabriel to do it, [because] he was my friend from when I was 15 and he was 16, his Dad trained me and we’ve known each other our whole lives.

“‘Let him do it,’ they were like ‘Well, nobody really knows him anymore and they won’t really get the reaction they want.’ Then there was a suggestion of Vince McMahon do it, and I was like ‘What’s the payoff? I don’t get it’ and they’re like ‘Well, we don’t really know where to go, so why not just have crazy billionaire just do it?’”

That idea would have been hilarious to see in action, minding the fact that McMahon is no stranger to the inside of a wrestling ring. He has been in many matches and has taken a few hits from all sorts of WWE superstars through the years.

Still, in the end, Gabriel got the nod after all and it worked out for all the parties involved. Vince would probably not enjoyed whatever craziness came with that particular assignment, but he has done stranger things on camera.

There might be hope to see The Bunny on camera again if the writers can find some way to convince McMahon to don the costume at a later date. If that doesn’t happen, there are a ton of other silly ideas that they could rope their boss into.
