Mick Foley is no longer the commissioner of RAW after being fired by Stephanie McMahon during a show earlier this year. He got replaced by Kurt Angle after the later was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame before WrestleMania 33 to much applause.

Foley had a string of in-ring arguments with McMahon which reached a head after multiple weeks where the commissioner questioned how well he was doing his job. She finally brought out Triple H to intimidate the general manager before he got a measure of revenge.

Since being let go, his contract with the WWE has expired and the Hardcore Legend has taken the time to undergo a hip replacement surgery that he desperately needed. In spite of all the medical issues, he has remained in good spirits and has supported Angle in his new position.

He took to Facebook this week to show off his progress after having the procedure done and the results are absolutely horrifying to say the least. Foley has a large gash running across his hip area that will not be going anywhere anytime soon.

On a better note, he is up and moving around and the doctors say that he is healing ahead of schedule. The Hardcore Legend should be back to a semi-normal routine in no time at all, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be seeing any time in the ring.

Now that retirement has given him increased time on his hands, the former champion can make runs on the media circuit to talk about his time both inside and outside of the squared circle. He’s got years worth of experience under his belt and that means the stories are tremendous.

The man who has competed as Cactus Jack, Dude Love and Mankind has struggled to climb up the WWE roster because of his looks and resistance from upper management, despite his considerable talent as a performer.

It might be a testament to him that the insane scar he is sporting on his hip is probably one of the more tame injuries that wrestling fans have seen him endure over the course of his career. Granted this one wasn’t scripted, but the point still stands.

Nobody knows what is next for The Hardcore Legend, but you can bet that he will be ready to face whatever challenge face-on.
