Just days after their tremendous FA Cup semi-final victory over Spurs, Chelsea had to compose themselves for a massive Premier League clash against Southampton. With Antonio Conte’s side playing 24 hours before Tottenham’s trip to Crystal Palace, the Blues were well aware they could pile on the pressure by going seven points clear. And it appeared they were going to ease to victory when Eden Hazard gave them an early lead. However, the visitors shocked everyone in the 24th minute when former Chelsea midfielder Oriel Romeu equalised from close range. It took the Chelsea fans by surprise and it seemed to take Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler by surprise as well.Tyler is renowned by his incredible reactions when a big goal goes in and, with Southampton’s equaliser potentially having a massive effect on the title race, you’d probably expect more of an exclamation from Tyler. However, all we got from his was: “And it’s followed in by Oriel Romeu.” Very underwhelming.

And it certainly didn’t go unnoticed on Twitter. Check out the reaction to Tyler’s commentary - with many accusing him of bias.

While Romeu’s goal would have been celebrated by Tottenham fans, his strike didn’t have too much significance on the match in the end.

Gary Cahill put Chelsea back infront just before half-time before Diego Costa ensured all three points with a second-half header.

Costa added a fourth before another former Chelsea player, Ryan Bertrand, made it 4-2.

It leaves Chelsea seven points clear and completes a fantastic few days for the club.
