Tuesday's episode of Smackdown carried huge title implications for almost all of Smackdown Live's Championships.

While WWE Champion Randy Orton had his belt stolen and Women's Champion Naomi defended her belt against Charlotte, the Tag Team Championships also gained new #1 contenders.

Another name stepping up

Smackdown hosted the first ever tag team beat the clock challenge with four teams vying for the right to be named the number one contenders.

American Alpha would take on the Colons while Breezango would face the Ascension with the quickest team to gain the win being named #1 contenders for the Usos championships.

Alpha would defeat the Colons and set a time to beat of five minutes and 17 seconds - a tough time to beat.

It wouldn't be enough to win in the end though as Breezango would defeat the Ascension with 2:36 left of the given time.

Breezango now go on to face the Smackdown Live Tag Team Champions the Usos at Backlash in May.

The Usos weren't present on Smackdown so didn't see their new challengers crowned but they are expected to be face to face with their surprise challengers next week.

Backlash will be the first title chance afforded to Breezango and despite the Usos surely being the favourites, they will surely do everything they can to leave with the belts.

Another new name

Tuesday marked the second straight week on Smackdown where a new name was crowned as a number one contender.

Jinder Mahal was named as the #1 contender for the WWE Championship last week and now with Breezango, that is two new names entering title pictures on Smackdown.

The show is often labelled as the land of opportunity and recently it has been living up to that, but the questions remain as to whether Mahal or Breezango can actually claim the titles they're targeting.

New life needed

Arguably the division within the WWE that is struggling most is the Smackdown tag team division.

So far, the titles have not been defended at either the Royal Rumble or WrestleMania and the champions at the time have been largely neglected from those shows.

The division appears to be struggling but could be getting new life very soon, with the imminent arrival of the New Day.

The longest reigning tag team champions in WWE history were traded to Smackdown during the superstar shake-up, but haven't actually debuted on the blue brand yet.

Once Kofi Kingston has overcome his injuries, the trio are expected to debut on Tuesday nights and could finally provide some worthwhile competition within a struggling division.
