Not many players can change the perception of their club's own fans from villain to hero within one season but Marouane Fellaini has come very close to achieving it at Manchester United.

The often maligned Belgian reached a new low when he was booed by Man United supporters at Old Trafford after coming on in a game against Tottenham just a few months ago.

Afterwards, Jose Mourinho defended his man and in fairness, Fellaini has gone from strength to strength ever since.

He might no longer be considered the liability he once was by Red Devils supporters but how would United fare if the starting XI was full of Fellaini's?

It's the kind of question that can only be investigated on FIFA and thankfully, YouTuber Rich Leigh has published his findings.

Brought to our attention by Dream Team FC, Leigh simmed what would happen with Fellaini playing in every position - including in goal - on FIFA 17's Career mode.

And the results are quite hilarious.

Even with a goalkeeper rating of just 18, the Fellaini XI somehow managed to beat Leicester City in the Community Shield on penalties.

However, that is about as good as it got for the Red Devils.

You can watch the full video below, as United go on to lose to Bournemouth, Southampton, Hull and Manchester City in their opening Premier League games.

A draw against Arouca in FIFA's version of the Europa League gave them some brief respite, though, before another loss to Watford.

Bizarrely, they were able to beat Chelsea in the EFL Cup (again on penalties) but it wasn't enough to turn their league form around.

Unsurprisingly, by the time it gets to March, United's extremely patient board have had enough.

Respectable draws against Arsenal and Tottenham aside, it has been a dreadful campaign for Man United's Fellaini XI and as the manager, Leigh got the sack.

It's hard to imagine United sitting at the bottom of the table in March, with just one win from 26 matches and 19 points off safety but that's what happened.

So it turns out a team full of big Belgians with afros is as big a disaster as it sounds!
