Right now, Paulo Dybala is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in world football.

The 23-year-old has impressed in Italy since arriving at Palermo back in the summer of 2012 and is on course to help Juventus to yet another Serie A title.

But it wasn’t until his incredible display against Barcelona in this season’s Champions League quarter-final did the footballing world realise just how good the Argentine was.

Dybala scored twice during the 3-0 win against Barcelona as Juventus progressed through to the last-four of the competition. And the forward’s display showed everyone that he’s capable of playing at the very highest level in the years to come.

But why has it taken until now for some people to realise his abilty?

After all, he managed 13 goals in the league for Palermo back in the 2014/15 season, a campaign which saw him catch the attention of the Old Lady.

But it wasn’t just Juve that Dybala was impressing.

That’s because former Manchester United defender, Phil Neville, tweeted about Dybala back in November 2014 after watching him for the first time - and made a pretty bold prediction.

He wrote: “Watched a player last night who’s going to be a star Palermos Argentine Dybala remember the name!!”

No, Neville didn’t know how to use punctuation back in 2014.

But you’ve got to give him credit him for a pretty decent prediction because Dybala already appears to be “a star”.

However, those of you that play Football Manager would have already heard of Dybala long before 2014. He was always an incredible talent on the popular management game and looks set to fulfil his potential in real life.

While Neville will like to think that he ‘discovered’ Dybala, it seems he was always destined for the top.
