Dean Moxey is on the verge of joining Derby after Exeter accepted an offer for the left-sided player.
The 23-year-old will complete a move to Pride Park for a fee believed to be in the region of £300,000, subject to agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
A statement on Exeter's official website read: "We believe the agreed fee is a good deal for the football club and reflects the fantastic talent that Dean is, whilst taking into account that his contract expires next summer."
It continued: "We are sure he will be a huge hit in the Championship, should he make the decision to leave the club."
Derby had a bid for Moxey turned down by the Devon club last month.
Moxey made his debut for Exeter in 2003 during their first season in the Conference and has been a key component in the Grecians' rise back into the Football League and subsequently into League One, following a second successive promotion last season.
