On this week's SmackDown Live, Baron Corbin had a match against AJ Styles which he lost. While The Lone Wolf and Kevin Owens, who was commentating on the match, were beating down The Phenomenal One after the clash, Sami Zayn came out for the save and delivered a Helluva kick to Corbin.Later, while The Underdog from the Underground was making an appearance on Talking Smack, he was attacked out of the blue by Corbin and thrown across the table which himself, Renee Young, and JBL were sitting at.

Referees then came in to try and break up the scrap, when one of them was pushed across the room by The Lone Wolf. Immediately regretting the action, Corbin placed his hands on his head and walked away from the situation while another official attended Zayn.

Shane McMahon has since released a statement on Twitter about the events which unfolded on Talking Smack and has also given a punishment to Baron Corbin for his actions.

He said: "It is never acceptable for an athlete in any sport to put their hands on an official, @WWE is no exception. @BaronCorbinWWE actions on #TalkingSmack were irresponsible and unprofessional. He has been fined and suspended for one week effectively immediately. #SDLive"

Of course, this punishment is only storyline, so this isn't an official disciplinary action towards The Lone Wolf, but don't expect him to be appearing on SmackDown Live next week. This is all part of WWE's grand scheme for Corbin.

Recent rumors have stated WWE wants Corbin to be in the main event title picture on SmackDown Live by the end of 2017. WWE officials are so highly rated on The Lone Wolf, they like him better than Braun Strowman. Now that's saying something.

To stick to his heel roots, Corbin could appear on SmackDown next week despite being suspended to act out his revenge further on Zayn for embarrassing him the week before, and set up their expected match at Backlash next month.

We'll just have to wait until next week's show to find out how The Lone Wolf will react to the punishment he has been given by Shane McMahon.
