Osasuna's players must have been quaking in their boots at the thought of facing a Barcelona side who just beat Real Madrid 3-2 at the Bernabeu.More specifically, they will have been scared of coming up against Lionel Messi.Sunday's El Clasico once again belonged to the Argentine magician, who scored two fantastic goals - one in the last few seconds - to secure all three points.Victory for Barcelona meant they reclaimed top spot in La Liga and reignited their title bid, though they have played a game more than Los Blancos.Osasuna's game plan at the Camp Nou on Wednesday was simple: stop Messi at all costs.Speaking ahead of the match, manager Petar Vasiljevic explained how his players said they need handcuffs and a pistol to contain Messi."I've already said that we need a plan for Messi and the players told me [that we need to] carry handcuffs and a pistol," he told a news conference on Tuesday."He disconnects, but later he plugs [himself] in for 10 minutes and does what he does."Safe to say their plan didn't quite work. Messi scored within 12 minutes at the Camp Nou for his 501st Barcelona goal - and it was a real beauty. The 29-year-old intercepted the ball, drove past Osasuna's defence and chipped the goalkeeper after doing a few kick-ups to set himself up.However, while Messi's goal was good, the Barcelona fans produced an even better celebration. As you will remember, Messi celebrated his last-minute winner in El Clasico by holding up the 'Messi 10' on his shirt to Real's fans. It was amazing. And that's exactly what Barcelona's fans did against Osasuna. As you can see in the video (0:25) and pictures below, when Messi scored, they all held up their Barcelona shirts to imitate his celebration at the Bernabeu.

Barcelona fans also paid tribute to Messi before the game by holding aloft a huge banner, which read: "Gracias Leo! 500 gols."

Victory over Osasuna would see Barcelona extend their lead at the top to three points, with Real due to face Deportivo La Coruna away in the 20:30 kick-off.

It was all going to plan at half-time, with Andre Gomes doubling his side's lead in the 30th minute.
