Isco has often found himself on the fringes at Real Madrid this season but he did his claims for a regular first team spot no harm at all on Wednesday night.

The Spaniard grabbed a goal, an assist and was a real thorn in Deportivo La Coruna's side throughout Madrid's convincing 6-2 win at the Estadio Riazor.

Despite heavily rotating his starting XI and leaving Cristiano Ronaldo at home, Zinedine Zidane was a happy man after watching his side get back to winning ways.

Isco was one of those who came into the team and Zidane was keen to sing his praises.

"He [Isco] has been tremendous, he can do things that few others can, and he showed that on the pitch," the Madrid boss said, as per Marca.

"We are very happy for all of the players, there are a lot who don't always play and I am very happy for them.

"I enjoyed it, with very attacking players we still had balance. We had a lot of quality, James, Marco and Isco were very good."

There was one moment during Wednesday's clash when Isco even turned into his manager.

One of Zidane's trademark tricks as a player was a roulette. Throughout his career, the Frenchman would leave even the most formidable defenders bamboozled by rotating his body around the ball in the blink of an eye.

And it had a similar effect when Isco recreated it in the build-up to Madrid's third goal of the night.

As you can see by skipping to 0:40 in the video below, the 25-year-old looked like he was about to lose possession after being tripped just outside Deportivo's box.

However, he remarkably got back to his feet and pulled out the brilliant roulette before the two defenders knew what was happening.

His pass then found Marcelo, who provided the cross for Lucas Vasquez to slot home.

It's no surprise after that performance that Isco feels like he might be in the form of his life right now.

"It could be [my best form], I am very comfortable and with these players everything is a lot easier, I am very happy with how everything went," the ex-Malaga star said.

"It was a very complete game from all of the team, on a collective and individual level, and this is shown by the scoreline."

He has certainly made being dropped back to the bench a lot harder for Zidane to do.

Los Blancos are back in action on Saturday when they take on Valencia at home. With the title still hanging in the balance, Isco is coming into form at just the right time.
