It's hardly surprising that boyhood Liverpool fan and club legend Steven Gerrard has begun the next chapter of his footballing career back at Anfield where it all began for the former Reds and England legend.
It was announced on Thursday that the former Liverpool captain will become the Under 18s manager ahead of next season, having returned to the club in January as an academy coach, following his retirement at the end of 2016 at LA Galaxy.
Gerrard was pursuing his coaching badges while still pulling on the Red shirt, and will now finally step into his first managerial role after hanging his boots up for the final time at the back end of last year.

The 36-year-old replaces Neil Critchley, who will step up to take charge of the Under 23s next campaign, meaning Gerrard will take charge of his team out of the spotlight that can so often hinder former players who begin their careers in management.
MK Dons made contact with Gerrard back in November, about becoming their manager, but the former midfielder rejected their advances and will now have the chance to showcase his managerial credentials where it all began for him.
Luckily for Gerrard, he will be able to learn from one of Europe's top coaches in Jurgen Klopp - who twice won the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund and helped them to reach the Champions League final in 2013.
And the former midfielder has revealed that Klopp has already given him some useful advice before he takes charge of his first game, next season.
Gerrard reveals Klopp's advice
"The key thing about this is [that] it's Liverpool U18s, it's massive, but it's away from the cameras," Gerrard told liverpoolfc.com.
"I know I'm going to make loads of mistakes, that's part of the process.
"One of the things Jürgen said to me when I sat down with him [was], 'You'll make mistakes, you've got to learn from them, grow and move on - and you ideally want to do that away from cameras.'"
But while the pressure is very much on Klopp to ensure Liverpool finish in the top four this season, in order to secure Champions League football, Gerrard admits he's felt the Reds boss' enthusiasm about him returning to club in a managerial capacity.
Klopp excited by Gerrard return
"I think he was more excited than me as the chats progressed and, when he thought about me coming back and being manager of the 18s, he was super excited. He's been first-class.
"I'm very happy and delighted to be back working for the club, but to get the role of U18s manager, it's a big gig and I'm really excited and looking forward to it."
There's absolutely no doubting that Gerrard will give everything for the club he has supported since he was a child, but the question remains to be whether the Reds legend will be the heir to Klopp's throne?
