Considering how long The Undertaker’s career lasted, you’d assume that he’s done it all during his time with the WWE.

He’s faced off against the biggest opponents in the best storylines and made WrestleMania synonymous with his character as he created a streak which probably won’t be replicated anytime soon.

RETIREMENT

It seems as if his in-ring career is now over, though, as his loss to Roman Reigns at the Grandest Stage of Them All in Orlando on April 2 all but confirmed that.

If that didn’t, then perhaps his actions after his loss did where he left his legendary hat, coat and gloves in the middle of the ring.

Even though we’ve been lucky enough to witness such an incredible career, there’s one glaring dream match that never took place in WWE – a contest against Sting.

While The Deadman was dominating in WWE, Sting was doing the exact same in WCW and even when the company ceased to exist, he went on to become the most famous star to never step foot in WWE.

REGRETS

That was until Survivor Series 2014 where he finally made his WWE debut by costing Team Authority the match against Team Cena.

There was a glimmer of hope that the two could have one match at WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara, but it never happened as Triple H defeated Sting, while The Phenom overcame Bray Wyatt and now with both of their careers over, it’s just not going to happen.

Sting spoke at WrestleCon and as expected, The Undertaker was a topic that was bound to pop up and he revealed that he regrets that he wasn’t able to have a match with him.

According to Sports Illustrated, he said: “There was a worldwide desire to see that match. It was a dream match for me too.

“I regret not being able to get in the ring with him one time. It would have been great, but I’m OK with the way it turned out.

“Of course, if I had a chance, I’d do it. But look at ‘Taker’s career’ did he miss out on anything? Look at my career. I don’t think I really missed out on anything, either.”

Sting also noted that he’s always interested in what The Undertaker is doing in WWE, as well as Seth Rollins.

He added: “I’m always interested in what ‘Taker’s doing, and Seth, of course. I have some bragging rights because my career ended with him – so Seth, ‘Taker, I’m always paying attention to those two.”

You can probably blame timing for this dream bout never happening, and now fans can only wonder what would have happened had the two met inside of a ring.
