Marcus Rashford is incredibly fast, we all know that. One of his main attributes is his pace with the ball, which has been used so effectively at unlocking opposition defences this season.

It's been the main thing that's set him apart from Zlatan Ibrahimovic (aside from the experience, presence and about 20 something goals) but his ability to get behind players has proved invaluable in recent weeks.

It's a major selling point to his game, and when used correctly he's able to make some pretty top class players look foolish.

Take Nicolas Otamendi for example. The Argentine international is no slouch, and though he hasn't enjoyed his best season to date this year, he's still a top class player when he's needed.

But during the first half of the Manchester derby, he was taken for a serious run around by Rashford, who gave him an important lesson in what it means to have pace in your locker.

As you can see in the video below, Otamendi had a 15-metre head start over his young opponent, but in just six seconds the England international had gone past him as if he wasn't there.

Chasing a through ball, Rashford made light work of getting to it, but sadly for him he wasn't able to create anything with it.

By the time he'd got it, it was too near the byline and Otamendi had managed to close the gap, and all the Red Devils star could do was let it go out after a slightly heavy first touch.

The rest of the first half remained goalless, with City making the most chances.

Pep Guardiola's side passed their way forward but were unable to fine their way past an inspired David de Gea, who pulled off a string of fine saves to keep the visitors level.

Rashford himself was moved around during the game, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan starting through the middle with him and Anthony Martial playing as split strikers.
