Tottenham host Arsenal on Sunday in one of the biggest games in English football - the North London derby.

Spurs are chasing Chelsea at the top of the Premier League and currently sit four points behind the league leaders in second. The Gunners are fighting to get back into top-four contention, and are hoping to secure Champions League football again next year.

They're currently sixth in the table, five points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, but do have a game in hand on their rivals.

Ahead of his 50th match against Tottenham, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that it's his club who are still the pride of North London.

Many fans and pundits alike are suggesting that there's been a power shift between the two teams. Being 14 points ahead of Arsenal, Spurs fans have a right to feel that they're finally getting one up on their neighbors.

But a defiant Wenger has reminded everyone that his 20 year legacy at the club should not be forgotten too soon.

"You cannot say the weight of one year has the weight of 20", Wenger said, as per the Daily Mail. "I answered the question of shift for 18 consecutive years, nothing changes in that."

During his time at Arsenal, the Frenchman has always managed to guide his team to finish above Spurs. The last time the Gunners finished below their rivals was in 1995, a year before Wenger joined.

However, should Mauricio Pochettino lead his side to victory on Sunday, it would be mathematically impossible for Arsenal to catch them, ending Tottenham's 22-year wait to finish above their huge rivals.

Spurs thought they had the run on Arsenal last season, as they were the only team pushing Leicester City to the title at times last term. However, they threw away the chance to finished second by failing to win any of their last games, and the Gunners swooped into second on the final day.

Of course, it's not much of a consolation prize finishing 10 points behind the champions.

Pochettino and his team will be desperate to avoid another slip up this season and need a win against Arsenal to put pressure on Chelsea.

Should the Blues drop points away to Everton before the North London derby kicks off, there's a chance Tottenham can close the gap at the top to one point, which would set up an exciting end to the season.
