Manchester United visited the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City on Thursday night in the 174th derby between the clubs.

The two sides played out an uninspiring 0-0 draw that had a fairly little impact on the race for top-four.

City remain in fourth with 65 points, and United are just one place and one point behind. Liverpool are currently third in the league, but both Manchester clubs have a game in hand over them, meaning either - or both, could leapfrog Jurgen Klopp's side.

The game last night lacked action for the most part. Sergio Aguero came close to putting the hosts in front early on but saw his shot bounce off the post, rather than into the net.

City did dominate, taking 19 shots to United's three, but only six of the 19 were on target. Jose Mourinho will likely be the happier of the two managers, as his side continued their unbeaten run in the Premier League, which now stands at 24 games.

The only major flashpoint in the game came in the 84th minute. United's Marouane Fellaini was sent off for a senseless headbutt on Aguero, just seconds after he had been booked.

It's not clear if Fellaini will face an extended ban, as the FA may decide his actions warrant a violent conduct charge.

Although the game was played on a Thursday night, the official attendance at the Etihad was called at 54,176.

It was a pretty good turnout considering the stadium holds 55,100, and the game was played midweek.

However, there were still a few empty seats around the ground, and one United youth team player spotted this.

Eighteen-year-old Indy Boonen, who plays in the United academy, sent out a tweet last night, that simply read "empty...".

Unsurprisingly, it was quickly deleted, but not before people were able to screenshot it and share it across social media.

It's clear that the young Belgian is United through and through, as he's taken the first opportunity to troll his club's great rivals.
