When The Hardy Boyz made their return to the WWE earlier this month at WrestleMania 33, many fans thought their successful 'Broken' gimmick was coming along with them. However, after news emerged that there was a legal issue regarding the usage of the gimmick, the WWE universe has only seen glimpses of the gimmick by Matt and Jeff Hardy on WWE programming. But if any of Matt Hardy's recent actions and tweets are taken seriously, you would think the 'Broken' gimmick is going to be appearing in the WWE very soon.

Matt has been tweeting references to the 'Broken' gimmick as recent as this week. Yesterday, he tweeted a video of an owl flying into a glass window in reference to Impact Wrestling's Owl, saying the following: "The OBSOLETE Owl cannot evade my #BROKENBrilliance by flying away.. DELETION is coming."

This has led to fans believing WWE has successfully purchased the 'Broken' gimmick from Impact Wrestling, meaning we could see The Hardy Boyz perform the gimmick on Monday Night RAW soon. Apparently, though, this is not the case.

Reby Hardy, the wife of Matt Hardy, was asked by a fan on Twitter if there was any truth to the rumor that WWE had purchased the 'Broken' gimmick from Impact Wrestling. She said this wasn't the case.

Reby tweeted: "NO. Absolutely none. The fact that this is even a rumor is such a joke 🙄"

WWE fans will is disappointed to hear this, but it is unlikely the company is going to give up on bringing the gimmick to their programming anytime soon. In essence, it's a matter of when, and not if Matt and Jeff will be 'Broken' in the WWE.

Evidence of this claim can be seen in the WWE today, as Matt has kept the white highlights in his hair since WrestleMania 33, and the tag team still do their 'Delete' chants at house shows and when the cameras aren't rolling.

The 'Broken' gimmick has the potential to make a lot of money for the WWE, so they're unlikely to give up on their pursuit of it anytime soon.
